Weebly For Education

Do you want to start a blog on recipes? Pottery? showcase vacation sites? or even promote your business? How about creating a class blog for parents and students to visit and view assignments and pictures? Well, Weebly or Weebly for Education is the site for you.

Weebly can be used for an array of things such as a blog, an online store, or even just a webpage for people to view.  With Weebly, you can build a high-quality site where you can plan and customize the page to your liking.  You can add those amazing photos, educational, funny, or memorable videos, texts, resources from other websites and many more.

Weebly for Education is an online class for teachers, students of all ages, and parents as a source of communication.  The only difference with Weebly for Education is that teachers AND students are able to create their own website and contribute to the classroom website. They can choose from an array of webpage designs or they can create their own.  As a teacher, you will be able to create a username and password for your students enabling them to express themselves creatively through a website for class projects, e-portfolios, or even a blog. I smell an Educational Technology grade!

What is great about Weebly for Education is that it is a protected environment that you as a teacher can control and it is Free. You may purchase Pro account features and add-on packs for more student accounts if needed. So sign-up for this user friendly web tool for you and your students. I am most certain the learning will never end.

I have attached a site that I have created using Weebly. I have yet to sign-up for Weebly for Education but I do plan on starting one the following school year. If you will like to watch a video about Weebly for Education, I have also attached a Youtube video.

Wordle

Wordle

Wordle (http://www.wordle.net/) is a tool or what the website calls it a "toy" for generating word clouds. Wordle is very user friendly and fun to use. All you have to do is click create and you will be lead to an empty box where you will insert all the words you want to use. Once you have inputted all your words and pressed go, Wordle will create a wordcloud with all your words. You can change the style of the text, color, and how you want the words to be organized and layed out.
This tool can be used for many things and different subjects in a classroom. Wordle can be used for vocabulary, wordsearch, parts of speech, and many more. There is actually a similar website as Wordle called Tagxedo, where the only difference is you can choose an image you will like your words to be placed into. See picture below. Both websites are equally a fun and useful tool, but I still believe Wordle is a little more user friendly.

Prezi

Prezi (www.prezi.com) is a WONDERFUL tool.  Similar to Powerpoint, you can add pictures, videos, text, and animation. However, with Prezi your presentations come alive. With this user friendly tool, you can pick different templates and decide how you will like to move through your presentation by editing your "paths". You can make text and pictures tiny and then all of sudden you can zoom into them and take your audience by surprise. This site is an effective tool for teachers who will like to teach about sequencing, map skills, and just present their content in a very unique and interesting way.  Prezi may take some time to put together, but it is fun and interesting to play around with.

Prezi has different licenses: A Public license is FREE, an Enjoy license is $4.92 a month, and a Pro license is $13.25 a month. I have been using the FREE version and it is awesome. :)

If you will like to see how Prezi works, please check out what I have created.
